IHC Offshore Technology Institute has an independent position within IHC Merwede and is the leading centre of expertise for the conversion of scientific knowledge of offshore processes into specification, design and application of products. We have in-house offshore experience and excellent knowledge of offshore processes. Our personnel are outstandingly educated and highly motivated and we actively position ourselves as an ‘outside-in’ and ’out of the box’ organization.

Our activities:

• Research and development, both fundamental and applied. (Disciplines:  fluid mechanics, drive and control, new materials, finite element calculations, multi-body dynamics and hydrodynamics.)
• Experimental research.
• Development of knowledge of technical processes and operations.
• Offshore market analyses and business cases.
• Advice in product and system concept development and optimization, trouble shooting, feasibility studies.
• Support in offshore operation preparation.
• Organization of workshops, courses and training.
• Supportive activities for IHC Merwede in the field of industrial property, subsidies and innovation management.

We offer practically-oriented R&D services for IHC Merwede’s offshore division and external parties. We can act as a partner in concept development or work on consultancy basis.
